A hunting controversy

One hundred eighty five wolves have been harvested in the Gem state,Idaho with thirty five left to fill the quota.
Only four days left in the hunting season on wolves,so doesn't look to good on that prognosis.
Also the zones in the north east portion off the state have to much snow to get to the wolf packs.Could mean an influx of wolves in the Idaho,Montana panhandle this year.

A hunting controversy

As of today there have been 183 wolves harvested in Idaho, with 37 left to harvest by the March 31,2010 dead line.
Seven hunting zones have been closed as the quota has been reached.

Friday, March 19, 2010

With only 20 days left in the wolf hunting season for Idaho, the hunters have harvested 179 wolves with 41 more left to harvest.
As I have stated before, that I didn't think Idaho would meet the 220 wolf quota the Idaho Fish and Game proposed to kill.
And most likely next year will be even worse as the wolf has found man to be a prediter and will hide when he smells or sees a human.

Wolves kill jogger in Alaska

A pack of wolves killed a substitute school teacher, while she was jogging in a small village in rural Alaska.
It seems the towns folk were walking their children to and from school,as the wolf pack has been hanging around the town for sometime.
The wolves had bitten the woman multiple times and then dragged her off the trail, leaving many tracks around her body.
There are an estimated 11000 wolves living in the state of Alaska.

It is time for all Montanan's to buy their Hunting and Fishing licenses again.
There have been changes made to the taking of some species, mainly the Whitetailed Doe,which will not be harvested at all this year.
Montana had a bad winter kill a couple years ago along with the Wolf gaining new territory and taking their share of big game animals.
The Wolf has grown to a population of over 1000 animals in Idaho and Montana alone.
Wolves have also spread into Oregon and Washington.
The Mexican Government wants to introduce wolves there also, which means they will spread back into Arizona,New Mexico,California and Texas.
Keep this pace up and forget hunting Big Game all anymore,as the wolf will eventually wipe all game animals out, plus many Sheep and Cattle ranches.
Montana is having the problem of wolves killing cattle and the Fish and Wildlife cannot keep up with the problem wolf as they don't have enough Predation Officers to cover the vast expanses of the West.
By the time U.S.Fish and Wildlife Officers arrive the Wolf is 40 miles away in someone elses herd.

Nothing really happening as far as the wolf kill.
With only 28 days left in the season and 56 more wolves left to bag.
I don't see it happening anytime soon.
One may want to check in on these free Hog hunts to start the spring off.
I have found wild hog hunting to be enjoyable and the meat is real good if cured right.
There isn't as much fat on a wild hog,so the meat tastes better and is not as greasy if prepared right.
